The Hollister Hydrofera Blue Foam Thick wound dressing offers advanced antibacterial protection for home wound care, combining highly absorbent foam technology with trusted infection control. This sterile antibacterial foam dressing is designed for moderate to heavily draining wounds and is ideal for caregivers managing pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, or burns at home. Each 6 inch by 6 inch thick foam pad measures 0.7 inches in depth, providing extra cushioning and absorption capacity for deeper wounds that need extra care. The dressing contains methylene blue and gentian violet pigments within a polyvinyl alcohol foam structure, which work together to provide broad-spectrum antibacterial protection against common wound bacteria including MRSA, VRE, and Candida. Unlike silver-based dressings, Hydrofera Blue pulls harmful bacteria and exudate away from the wound bed through rapid wicking action, helping to maintain a clean, moist healing environment that supports natural wound closure.
