CanMedDirect.ca was founded in October 2011 with a straightforward mission: to make it easier for Canadians to find and order the medical supplies they need, from the comfort of their own home. When we started, buying medical supplies online in Canada was genuinely difficult. Patients and caregivers were navigating a fragmented market — driving to specialty stores, waiting on back-orders, or paying inflated prices for products that should have been simple to access. We saw an opportunity to do something better: build a reliable, well-stocked Canadian online store where patients, caregivers, and healthcare facilities could find what they needed, order with confidence, and have it delivered quickly. More than a decade later, that mission hasn't changed.

What We Carry

We carry over 4,000 products across the categories that matter most to our customers:

Ostomy supplies — a comprehensive range of colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy products from the brands Canadians trust most, including Hollister, Coloplast, Salts Healthcare, and ConvaTec. Whether you need pouches, skin barriers, ostomy accessories, or stoma care products, we stock the full range in the sizes and configurations you rely on.

Catheters and urological supplies —Intermittent catheters, foley catheters, catheter bags, drainage systems, and accessories. We carry PVC, silicone and latex options across all standard French sizes, with products from Bard, Coloplast, Hollister, Medline and more.

Continence and incontinence products — adult briefs, pads, pull-up underwear, and bed protection from brands including Tena, Attends, and Medline. Available in a full range of absorbency levels and sizes for men and women.

Wound care — dressings, bandages, antimicrobial products, compression therapy, and wound management supplies. Our wound care range includes Molnlycke (Mepilex, Mepitac), Coloplast, Tegaderm, BSN Medical, and more.

Skin care and other medical supplies — barrier creams, skin sealants, cleansers, and a broad range of supporting medical products for home care and clinical use.

Serving Canadians Nationwide

We ship to every province and territory across Canada. Most orders placed before 3:00 PM EST on business days are dispatched the same day. Most customers in Ontario and Quebec receive their order within 1–2 business days. Western Canada typically 3-5 business days; Atlantic provinces 3–5 business days.

We understand that medical supplies are not discretionary purchases — for many of our customers, running out is not an option. We keep high-demand products in stock year-round and work hard to maintain reliable availability on the SKUs our customers depend on.

Insurance and Direct Billing

Many of the products we carry are eligible for coverage through provincial assistive devices programs — including Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works program (OW) — as well as through most Canadian private extended health insurance plans.

We offer direct billing to many insurers and can provide itemized receipts formatted for insurance reimbursement claims. If you have questions about whether a product is covered under your plan, our customer service team is happy to help you work through it before you order.
