Each box contains 10 individual dressings. The Hydrofera Blue Classic is made from polyvinyl alcohol foam infused with two organic pigments, methylene blue and gentian violet, which have been used safely in medicine for over 50 years. Unlike silver-based dressings, this foam works by pulling bacteria-laden fluid and debris away from the wound, helping to reduce infection risk and support natural healing. The highly absorbent material maintains a moist wound environment while wicking away excess drainage, which can aid in patient comfort and promote faster healing. This non-cytotoxic dressing is gentle enough not to harm healthy new tissue as your wound heals. Before use, simply moisten the foam with sterile saline or sterile water, squeeze out excess liquid, and apply it to cover the wound. It can be easily cut to fit your specific wound size and should be secured with a secondary dressing or bandage.
