KALTOSTAT� Calcium Sodium Alginate dressing is indicated for moderately to highly exuding chronic and acute wounds, and for wounds with minor bleeding. ConvaTec KALTOSTAT calcium alginate wound dressing offers highly effective absorption for moderate to heavily exuding wounds at home. This sterile 4-inch by 8-inch dressing is designed for pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, surgical incisions, donor sites, superficial burns, lacerations, and traumatic wounds. Made from soft calcium sodium alginate fiber, KALTOSTAT transforms on contact with wound fluid into a gentle, moist gel that absorbs up to 20 times its own weight in exudate while maintaining its integrity in the wound. This moist gel environment supports natural healing and helps control minor bleeding. The dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days depending on exudate levels, reducing the frequency of dressing changes. When it's time to change the dressing, KALTOSTAT lifts away easily, providing trauma-free removal that's comfortable for sensitive wounds and healing skin. Each box contains 10 individually wrapped sterile dressings, making it convenient for ongoing wound care at home. This latex-free dressing requires a secondary cover such as gauze or tape to hold it securely in place.
