Biatain Ag
Biatain Ag foam dressings combine superior exudate management with sustained antimicrobial activity for improved patient outcomes. Sustained release of silver assures fast and effective kill against bacterial strains known to be detrimental to wound healing such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and B-haemolytic Streptococcos.

Areas of Use:
  • Exudating wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Exudating wounds where there is a risk of infection
  • Leg/Vascular ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Second degree burns
  • Donor sites
  • Postoperative wounds
  • Skin abrasions with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Suitable for use in combination with compression therapy

Ionic silver is evenly distributed in the Biatain Ag foam. In the presence of exudate, there is a sustained release of silver into the wound bed throughout the wear time of the dressing. Silver is continuously released for up to 7 days in proportion to the level of exudate within the wound. This ensures an effective control of the local infection which is maintained during the entire wear time.

Biatain Ag Non-Adhesive Foam Dressing
  • Superior exudate management
  • Suitable for use on fragile skin due to absence of adhesive
The Biatain Ag Non-Adhesive Foam Antimicrobial Dressing with Silver by Coloplast offers superior absorption and infection control for wounds healing at home. This sterile 4 inch by 4 inch foam dressing is designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds where there is a risk of infection or delayed healing due to bacteria, making it ideal for managing leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, second-degree burns, post-operative wounds, and skin abrasions. The soft and conformable polyurethane foam features a patented silver complex that releases silver ions continuously when in contact with wound fluid, providing antimicrobial protection against bacteria and fungi for up to seven days of wear. The unique 3D foam structure conforms closely to the wound bed to minimize pooling and promote optimal healing conditions, even under compression therapy. Because it is non-adhesive, this dressing allows for gentle, pain-free dressing changes that minimize trauma to sensitive skin and fragile healing tissue. Each box contains five individually wrapped sterile dressings, providing convenient supply for ongoing home wound care. The Biatain Ag foam dressing delivers reliable infection management with long wear time, making it easier for caregivers and patients to manage wounds effectively at home with fewer dressing changes and greater comfort throughout the healing process.
