Biatain Ag
Biatain Ag foam dressings combine superior exudate management with sustained antimicrobial activity for improved patient outcomes. Sustained release of silver assures fast and effective kill against bacterial strains known to be detrimental to wound healing such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and B-haemolytic Streptococcos.

Areas of Use:
  • Exudating wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Exudating wounds where there is a risk of infection
  • Leg/Vascular ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Second degree burns
  • Donor sites
  • Postoperative wounds
  • Skin abrasions with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Suitable for use in combination with compression therapy

Ionic silver is evenly distributed in the Biatain Ag foam. In the presence of exudate, there is a sustained release of silver into the wound bed throughout the wear time of the dressing. Silver is continuously released for up to 7 days in proportion to the level of exudate within the wound. This ensures an effective control of the local infection which is maintained during the entire wear time.

Biatain Ag Non-Adhesive Foam Dressing
  • Superior exudate management
  • Suitable for use on fragile skin due to absence of adhesive
The Biatain Ag silver foam dressing from Coloplast offers advanced infection protection for wounds that need extra care at home. This non-adhesive foam dressing measures 2 inches by 2.8 inches (5cm x 7cm) and comes in a box of five sterile dressings, making it ideal for managing wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria or when there's a risk of infection. The dressing features a patented silver complex that releases antimicrobial silver ions continuously for up to seven days, helping infected wounds heal faster while fighting bacteria commonly found in problem wounds. Its unique 3D foam structure absorbs wound fluid vertically and conforms closely to the wound bed for superior absorption, even under compression bandages. The soft, conformable polyurethane foam is gentle on sensitive skin and latex-free for allergy concerns. The waterproof backing acts as a barrier to bacteria while the foam retains moisture to support the natural healing process. Biatain Ag is designed for a wide range of exuding wounds including leg ulcers, pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, post-operative wounds, second-degree burns, and skin abrasions. Each single-use dressing is easy to apply and remove at home, offering both effective infection control and comfort for patients managing chronic wounds. The non-adhesive design makes it suitable for use with compression therapy and secondary dressings, giving caregivers flexibility in wound care routines.
