Biatain Ag
Biatain Ag foam dressings combine superior exudate management with sustained antimicrobial activity for improved patient outcomes. Sustained release of silver assures fast and effective kill against bacterial strains known to be detrimental to wound healing such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and B-haemolytic Streptococcos.

Areas of Use:
  • Exudating wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Exudating wounds where there is a risk of infection
  • Leg/Vascular ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Second degree burns
  • Donor sites
  • Postoperative wounds
  • Skin abrasions with delayed healing due to bacteria
  • Suitable for use in combination with compression therapy

Ionic silver is evenly distributed in the Biatain Ag foam. In the presence of exudate, there is a sustained release of silver into the wound bed throughout the wear time of the dressing. Silver is continuously released for up to 7 days in proportion to the level of exudate within the wound. This ensures an effective control of the local infection which is maintained during the entire wear time.
